Will these pliers rust?
The "DOMINATOR" Stainless Steel Pliers are made from strong, high-grade stainless steel. This means that the pliers are resistant to rusting over a short time. However, being steel, they will rust still over time if not maintained correctly.
These are high-grade stainless steel but should be washed with fresh water after use especially if used in Saltwater. But we recommend this with all of our products to ensure they last the test of time and you enjoy using them for many years to come. Maintenance is key for all fishing equipment as they are exposed to salt water, sand, etc so maintenance is heavily important if you want your gear to last.
Do they need to be maintained?
The short answer is... YES.
We recommend that all TKF accessories are washed in Fresh and Clean water. More so after use in Saltwater environments as the salt gets into joints and causes premature wear or corrosion.
We also recommend that you use a lubricating spray every so often to spray into the joint to make sure they remain free and easy to use today and into the future.
Otherwise, use them, enjoy them and you will have them for many many years to come.

Used the pliers this weekend. Well made, fit the hand well, and just work. Had to replace some trebles and it was a so easy with the pliers. Easy to trim my braid after re-tying. A great product. Would be better with a locking mechanism.
